Your College Student Needs Your Prayers: College Moms share reminders of things you might forget to cover - Paperback

by Monica Renahan (Author)

After you unload the car and wave goodbye to your college student at the dorm door, then what?

Do they immediately become adults, ready to handle anything that comes their way? Are your parenting days over? Probably not, mom! The things you taught them may not cover everything they need to know. So, what can you do? Start praying... and keep praying!

How do you pray for a college student? Most of the time, you don't know the details about things happening in their lives. Instead of using broad-ranging, one-size-fits-all prayers that cover general topics, read the stories that moms share to help you uncover the specifics you can pray about for your daughter or son. They're facing new challenges every day, and you can send plenty of relevant prayers their way. By getting these topics on your radar, you'll be ready for the moments when they show up in your student's life.

No mom has discovered the perfect plan to prepare a child for college. But, if you read stories from a lot of moms about what they needed, or what they weren't ready for, you'll give yourself a valuable edge. As our students try handling things we think they know about, we realize how much we never taught them... and how much they're not quite ready to tackle. Help them out by sending prayers their way before they need to face the struggles ahead. Be brave and let go, but be ready for the learning curve they will need on independence, adulting, responsibilities, choices, and new challenges. No mom thinks to tell her son or daughter all these things before they go.

These fifty short chapters cover many of the little things that can disrupt your student's life. You'll find lots of topics you recognize, ranging from campus life to growth, identity, future plans, and more. Each chapter takes a good look at a specific need in those areas, bringing up some things most moms won't have on their prayer list already. As you read through the suggestions for prayer at the end of the chapters, you can almost hear your college student saying, 'Mom, pray for me about all this stuff. I'm living it. I need it.'

Make the parenting journey through the college years a little easier with Your College Student Needs Your Prayers, and find out how to use other moms' experiences as a guide for your path ahead.
