Y'all Chose This!: The Diaries of Trina Pardo - Paperback

by Dorcas Renee (Author)

In the shadow of tyranny, one woman's diary reveals a fierce struggle for love and sanity amidst a world that demands silence.

"Yesterday, I lynched a teenage boy," Trina Pardo admits to her diary.

It's a confusing time in America for this thirty-something, African-American, conservative-ish Christian woman, and Trina is navigating her own stormy seas while trying to make sense of political upheaval.

Through the imperfect lens of her diary, Trina unveils a raw and unfiltered narrative of a nation goose-stepping toward fascism while she tries to maintain some semblance of normalcy-even as she grapples with recovering from an abusive relationship, becoming increasingly disconnected from her community and faith, and seeking love again while trying (unsuccessfully) to remain celibate.

When love finally finds Trina in Sailor, a Navy reservist who promises her the happiness she's always yearned for, it seems it's too late for Trina's happily ever after. America's new leadership is dragging the country into war, and Sailor is called into active duty, leaving Trina alone and voiceless as she fights her darkest battle.

A tale of personal and political turmoil, Y'all Chose This! is an engaging, speculative, and unapologetically real glimpse into a woman's struggle to maintain her identity and hope in a world turning upside down. Trina Pardo's journey is a testament to resilience, love, and the fight to keep one's humanity amidst chaos.
