Words for the Widow: Discovering Your Place and Purpose - Paperback

by John Mark Caton (Author)

When a woman's husband dies, her world is turned upside down. Every area of her life is impacted, including relationships, finances, family, and especially her spiritual life. However, that doesn't mean she is no longer useful to God.

"Words for the Widow: Discovering Your Place and Purpose" delves into the lives of widows from the stories of scripture. These women served God in amazing and often miraculous ways. Some of these women are well known to us by name, like Ruth and Naomi, and others are unnamed but we know their stories.

John Mark Caton writes from the perspective of a pastor who appreciates the valuable role widow's serve in the church. He also understands the importance of the church honoring these women. God has always provided special care for them.

Pastor John Mark Caton has watched Cottonwood Creek Church in Allen, Texas grow from a small church in a rural setting to a large multi-campus church in the sprawling Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex. During that time, he has ministered to numerous women who have become widowed. He has watched as they have used their gifts to strengthen the church. This book is an affirmation of the work of these widows.
