Two Brothers On The Ridgeway - Paperback

by Jeremy D. Holmes (Author)

Jason Scott is the youngest of three siblings, a hardworking father, husband, and pillar of his family. Life seems to be on track: he's moved into a new home, his wife Lisa is expecting their third child, and the couple is settling into a friendly neighborhood. But just as summer begins, an unexpected phone call disrupts their fragile peace.

It's Kent, Jason's troubled older brother, calling to announce his early release from prison. For decades, Kent's poor decisions, brushes with the law, and struggles with addiction have left a wake of chaos that the family has worked tirelessly to overcome. Now, he's back, hoping for a fresh start-but his return brings complications Jason isn't sure he can handle.

Lisa, protective of her family's stability, fears Kent's reappearance will bring old wounds and new turmoil. Their sister Heather, who has forged a successful life far from the family drama, remains guarded, unsure whether Kent's promises of change are sincere. Yet Jason, ever the peacemaker, can't shake his sense of obligation to the brother who once taught him to ride dirt bikes and navigate the woods of their small-town childhood.

As Jason navigates his conflicting responsibilities to his brother and his growing family, long-buried memories resurface-memories of simpler times, but also of pain and disappointment. Can Jason protect his family while offering his brother one last chance at redemption?

Poignant, raw, and deeply relatable, this is a story of family ties, second chances, and the difficult choices we make when love and loyalty collide. For the Scotts, this summer will test the limits of forgiveness-and whether reconciliation is enough to heal old wounds.
