To Live for the People, To Die for the Lord: One Christian couple's struggle for Korean independence, justice, and love under Japanese rule and North - Paperback

by Dong Soo Kim Ph. D. (Author)

" . . . vividly detailed and emotional storytelling . . . Dr. Kim paints moments of passion and faith that are powerfully moving. Above all, these stories challenge believers to think what faith and passion is all about, and evoke such questions as what it means to be a husband, a wife, a man and a woman of God." Rev. Kenneth Choe Senior Paster, Ttokamsa Mission Church, LA "Well written . . . I would like to place this book next to Richard Kim's The Martyred, a famous novel based on the Korean War." Yearn Hong Choi, Ph.D. Poet, Writer, Former Professor, and Founding President of the Korean Poets and Writers Group in the Washington, D.C. Area. " . . . As a fan of historical novels, this book rivals the [Novels of the Century] Trilogy by Ken Follett a few years ago. The story of a couple's dreams and actions for their country and a strong belief in God is paramount through the book. The author has done an incredible job of research pulling this together not only for his family but for others interested in Korean history in the late 19th and early 20th century . . . " Franklin Haskins, Presbyterian Elder, Former Assistant Professor, US Army Lt. Colonel (Ret.) "This book enlightens us who continue searching for truth in understanding of the peace works of God as revealed vividly in our time." Daniel Booduck Lee, DSW Prof. Emeritus & Former Asso. Dean, Loyola University "I would compare Rev. Yejin Kim with Rev. Dietrich Bonhoeffer who opposed Hitler in Germany during World War II. Both of them were Christian ministers and loyal nationalist patriots who loved their country and who stood boldly against atrocities committed by political dictators . . . " Rev. Dan Moon, Ph.D., President and CEO of Agape Manna Foundation, Professor (Ret.), U.S. Army Colonel (Ret.)
