1123 years passed, and Constantinople remained unconquered, because people believed God had blessed it and formidable defenses protected it. The city had no loopholes. Its geography crushed mighty armies by trapping attackers into a few narrow entry points where defenders held every advantage.
Even if an army sought to conquer this city with the greatest naval excellence, Constantinople possessed Greek fire, an accessible weapon that destroyed naval superiority. But nothing in this world remains unconquerable. Alexander conquered Persia when he was young, and many believed such a feat was impossible to achieve. Legends, however, exist to defy destiny.
