The Living Gospel: The Life of St. Pishoy Kamel - Paperback

by Olivia Marie Soliman (Author)

Nestled on the shores of Alexandria, Egypt in the 20th century, was a priest who served his parish for a mere two decades. Yet, this brief service in a city in Egypt revolutionized the way the Coptic world approaches ministry today.

Ever since his canonization in 2022, people in the West have begun hearing the name "Fr. Pishoy Kamel" in liturgical services and brief stories from his life, yet most have a limited knowledge of who this new saint really is. Some might know him as the priest who established seven churches in Alexandria and the Diocese of Los Angeles in the United States, or even as the priest who gave engaging sermons, and revived the concept of "relational ministry" in a once-dying service. Yet it is unlikely that many are familiar with him as the modest man who loved sunrises, was a loyal friend, and would even double-book himself and show up late to events! As well as being a canonized saint, he is also a relatable intercessor.

This complete English biography on the life of St. Pishoy Kamel is intended to bring his story to the diaspora, introducing readers to a priest whose sainthood is not one based on miracles, but rather a deep love and dedication to his Maker in every thought, word, and action.
