The Insistent Self - Paperback

by Lesley Shams (Author)

We, as human beings, have two natures. One is our spiritual, higher nature, reflecting the nobility of man. The other is the ego or our lower nature, referred to in the Bahá'í Writings as "the insistent self". Daily effort is needed to prevent the ego from taking over and depriving us of attaining our spiritual destiny.

The Insistent Self explains the concept of this second nature while providing guidance from the Bahá'í Writings and other sources for those seeking a spiritual path. Topics include prayer, meditation, fasting, detachment, sacrifice, tests, love, and service.
