The Business of Environmental Health & Safety Management - Paperback

by James Lance Lieberman (Author)

The Business of Environmental Health and Safety Management. Your guide to creating powerful arguments to communicate where financial investments coincide with corporate environmental health and safety (EH&S) needs. It is called persuasion, and great EH&S managers are learning the language of business to communicate the value of their programs and ideas to executive management. We have the opportunity to transform our company's requests, needs, good practices, and sustainability concepts into objective business statements that can stand the scrutiny of employees, managers, environmentalists, and shareholders. We can transform the paradox from managers begging for financial resources to a place where management can see the value in a return on investment. The business of environmental health and safety management is a groundbreaking book that charts the rise of demonstrating value from EH&S investments within the business world. The book takes the reader on a step-by-step journey to empower them to objectify subjective data and to show how financial success will go hand in hand with responsible stewardship of environmental health, safety, and sustainability achievements. James Lieberman chronicles both the challenges that companies and managers face and the path forward to create solutions using tried and true financial tools. His vision will illuminate the path for the next generation of managers to make a real impact in their organizations and communities. Lieberman identifies and explains the underlying concepts to use clearly, with plenty of realistic examples. Readers will be able to grasp and use financial concepts and calculations like seasoned managers. His book will help managers from organizations of all sizes and industries make their case. In the final analysis, managers will come to realize that demonstrating value in financial terms is the fundamental approach to success. Author Bio: James L.
