Taming The Temper How To Manage The Raging Fire Within Us And Preserve Our Relationships For Personal Or Group Study With Workbook Questions And Answe - Paperback

by Donald E. Jones (Author)

Throughout our lives we will be in various relationships with parents, siblings, extended family, spouses, children, friends, neighbors, students, co-workers, team members, fellow Christians, and even acquaintances. We encounter people in stores, supermarkets, movie theaters, restaurants, banks, and social media sites. With all these interactions to navigate it is inevitable that disputes will arise. Conflicts escalate rapidly, tempers flare, and then words and actions can spiral out of control. How can we handle the anger that can so quickly rise within us or respond to the anger of others? How can we tame the fiery flames of these raging tempers before it destroys our relationships? This book answers these questions from the Bible. The author distinguishes between what aspects of anger are sinful and what are not. He provides some powerful techniques to tame our tempers and proper responses to those who cannot. He describes a biblical example of a king and his successor in conflict and how one fueled the fire and the other tried to extinguish it. He continues with a modern day counseling situation which involved a conflict with neighbors over a barking dog. To aid in your comprehension and application of the truths, there are workbook questions after each chapter with the answers in the back. This book can be utilized as a personal study or in a group context. May the Lord bless you as you study His Word.
