by Manish Shukla (Author), Vickey Swami (Author)

A key textbook for understanding and managing sustainable supply chain transformation.

Sustainable Supply Chain Transformation by Manish Shukla and Vickey Swami is a comprehensive textbook for postgraduate students studying supply chain management, logistics, operations and sustainable supply chain modules and courses. It examines how environmental and social priorities are embedded into supply chain strategy and operations, supporting students in meeting the analytical and applied demands of advanced supply chain courses.

The textbook approaches sustainability as a process of transformation rather than compliance alone, exploring how supply chains respond to regulatory expectations, stakeholder pressures and increasing disruption. It considers how organizations build and develop sustainable supply chains, embed responsible and ethical operations, and lead change across complex global networks. Key themes include managing disruption, supply chain leadership and navigating the risks and opportunities that emerge as sustainability strategies evolve.

Real-world examples from organizations include P&G, Unilever, Mars, Starbucks and McDonald's, linking theory to practice and enabling students to apply concepts to real supply chain challenges and evaluate key trade-offs. Coverage of metrics and KPIs supports understanding of how sustainability performance is measured and improved over time, strengthening students' ability to assess outcomes and inform decision making.

This textbook includes:
- Learning outcomes to support structured study and assessment preparation
- Practical exercises and activities to develop application and reflection
- A glossary of key terms to support accessibility for international students
- End-of-chapter questions to encourage critical analysis and discussion
