Spaniards Arrive: Llegan los Españoles - Paperback

by Nathalie "tali" Saxton de Perez (Author), Lynne a. Guitar Ph. D. (Author)

Kayabó wants to bring his wife and children from Xaraguá to Kaleta, where they will be safe-for now-and Anani's spirit guide has asked her to bring medicine to Makuya, Xaraguá's behike (shaman/healer) for the strange fevers that have struck their friends there. What has changed? Several of the pale and hairy arijua (strangers), who call themselves españoles (Spaniards), have arrived. In Xaraguá, Kayabó and Anani learn firsthand just how violent these arijua can be. This is Book Nine in Dr. Lynne Guitar's "Taíno Ni Rahú (Children of the Water) Series." All 10 books in the series take place just as Christopher Columbus and his motley crews are about to disrupt the Taínos' lives forever. Each book is in both English and Spanish. Guides to the books' historical backgrounds, characters, pronunciation, and extended explanations of Taíno words used are also provided for educational purposes.
