Secret of the Hindu Kush - Paperback

by Anthony Stone (Author)

A family torn apart. A secret organization seeking the ultimate treasure. A quest across continents.

Omar and his twin brother are separated when young Sikandur is kidnapped in the dead of night. As Omar grows up, he is caught between conflicting cultures and familial responsibilities. His warlord father expects him to join the fight against Soviet invaders, but Omar is not the ruthless killer his father demands. Banished to America, Omar later returns to Afghanistan only to rebel against his father's plan for him to marry a 12-year-old girl to cement an alliance. Fleeing under the threat of death, he seeks refuge with the woman he loves and the child she carries.

Estranged from his father and his homeland, Omar is haunted by the echoes of a distant drummer and faint psychic connections to his lost twin. Meanwhile, his twin, now known as Armon Badill, is manipulated by a powerful secret society bent on revenge. Their sister has revealed the family's access to ancient secrets and priceless artifacts, making them pawns in a timeless game of power and survival.

Omar and his siblings embark on separate, perilous journeys, only to be reunited in a grand adventure that spans continents and culminates in a trek through the Hindu Kush mountain range. They uncover a secret guarded for thousands of years, one that could change the course of history.

Secret of the Hindu Kush immerses readers in a sweeping adventure that transcends conventional genres. It blends harsh historical realities with a touch of magical realism. Anthony Stone's lyrical and lush writing transports readers to a different realm, offering an experience that tantalizes the senses.

Although not the son of an Afghan warlord, Anthony Stone's authentic voice paints a captivating picture of Afghanistan, its people, conflicts, and culture; while also shining a light on many of the challenges facing the world today.
