Real American History 1620 - 1945: Through the Lives of Ancestors - Paperback

by Tricia Mansell (Author)

The author uses carefully documented information that will show readers America was built on strong faith, remarkable bravery, and a willingness by many to make personal sacrifices for the greater goals of liberty shrouded in freedom for all. Modern American history began in part with both the Jamestown and Plymouth Colonies in the 1600s. The author has a unique ancestral history in America, traced directly to several Mayflower passengers who settled in Plymouth, and to a Jamestown settler. The author uses both extensive research and ancestral documents to document America's history through the lives of her ancestors. She focuses on their successful participation in conflicts and their Westward Expansion; both necessary to build the nation of America today. Included in these pages are stories of the early battles with Native Americans, the American Revolution, the Civil War, and on through World War II. Given the author's extensive ancestral settlements in Texas and Arizona, storied histories of these states are in focus. They include the Texas Rangers and the Texas War for Independence, and the Arizona Rangers and early statehood history such as the Bisbee Deportation of copper miners. Within these pages readers will feel as though they were present during the King Philip's War and aboard a US Navy ship hit by a Kamikaze in WWII. Readers will experience the life and death of the many prisoners in the Civil War. Readers will learn of the early exploration of the Grand Canyon, the Mormon settlement Westward to Utah, to include an account of the Hahn's Mill Massacre in Missouri and the assassination of their Prophet. This book is intended to humanize the history of America through first-hand accounts of real life. The author is a former military intelligence officer whose father served in both the European and Pacific Theaters of World War II, thus the values of patriotism and search for truth shine through these pages of history.
