The core audience for this story is 3-6 years old.Author and illustrator Bethann Shannon wrote this story over ten years ago for a little 3 year-old girl she took care of, who wore a rainbow coat one day. The story evolved from the toddler not knowing what a rainbow was, and Bethann started teaching her by writing whimsical rainbow pages every day about a Rainbow Girl and all the rainbow things in her life. These illustrations became the book Rainbows! Rainbows! Everywhere! when Bethann teamed up with Allison Beausoleil, a jeweler, artist, writer and graphic designer. Bethann and Allison met while in school, and have collaborated on many art projects. This is their first published book together. Bethann and Allison live in Seattle, Washington, and are both involved in child care and teaching children.
