Quick Reference to Bridge Conventions: For Intermediate and Expert Bridge Players - Hardcover

by Alvin Lesser (Author), Manley Brent (Editor)

QUICK REFERENCE TO BRIDGE CONVENTIONS is designed to enable bridge players, already somewhat familiar with a convention, to:

1. Get a quick review of the convention.

2. Learn the meaning of bids when opponents or a partner use an unfamiliar or forgotten convention.

3. Become aware of conventions that contain more than one part, such as Brozel, Cappeletti, DONT, etc.

Reading Quick Reference to Bridge Conventions is an ideal way for bridge players to review over 65 of the the most popular bridge conventions and rules. This book is loaded with information about how to use-and avoid abusing--a long list of conventions. It is easy to read as it has no extraneous details. It is written clearly and concisely so that each member of the partnership will have an understanding of their partner's bid. Even if you don't plan to use all of these bidding aids, familiarity with them will help you when you encounter opponents who are using them. Study carefully. Be prepared.

The conventions included are the most popular versions. The intent is for partnerships that use this book to be on the same page, to know exactly what each bid made by a partner or an opponent means. Quick Reference to Bridge Conventions can be used by steady partners or by casual partners. The book is arranged alphabetically and indexed so that a convention can be found easily.
