Physical Security For Retail Loss Prevention - Paperback

by Ian Watts Msyi (Author), Tim Trafford Bem (Author)

Retail loss prevention and profit protection isn't just about theft from retail stores. There are thousands of ways that assets can be lost from a retail business, normally falling into three categories; theft, waste or negligence. All impact negatively on an organisation's bottom line and can come from internal or external activity. Physical Security For Retail Loss Prevention explores the main methods of reducing loss using physical, mechanical and electronic barriers and techniques. This book will guide you through the advantages and disadvantages of using buildings, fences, locking mechanisms, CCTV systems, alarm systems and personnel in the fight to prevent or minimise loss within a retail organisation. The book is written in an easy to follow style for readers of all levels of retail security experience. It is especially useful for retail managers who are required to develop loss prevention and profit protection strategies for their locations. It assumes no prior knowledge and would act as a guide to anyone with responsibility for designing loss out of a retail business. Carry the book with you on your e-reader and easily move to different sections of the book as you conduct your risk assessments or security surveys. Use the book to make your own checklists and save hours of time having to think about what you should be looking for. This is the second book in a series of books dealing with retail loss prevention and profit protection activities. Each book looks at a different aspect of retail loss prevention. The full series provides a library of material which covers most areas of retail loss and how to prevent, minimise and deal with those losses.
