Author Biography

Rachel Halpern is a Chicago-area author and editor who's been making up stories since she could toddle around chattering about the Power Rangers. Unicorns Have Bad Manners is her debut picture book. When she isn't writing, Rachel enjoys doodling, drinking milkshakes, and playing with her dog, whose manners are even worse than a unicorn's.

Wendy Tan Shiau Wei is an illustrator based in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Over the last few years, she has contributed to numerous animation productions and advertisements. Now, her passion for storytelling has led her down a new path: illustrating children's books. When she's not drawing, Wendy likes to spend time playing with her puppy, Lucky.

Ana Izquierdo is a Mexican editor and translator. Her love for books runs deep, and all kinds of volumes fill her cozy home. She creates many different things with her hands: beautiful stories for children in Spanish, warm blankets for the babies she loves and detailed embroideries for special clothes. She is driven by a need to always improve, to find new ways to enjoy life and to evolve... just like a Pokémon!

Every day, since the first time she could read a line, Arlette de Alba has deeply enjoyed the stories in books. She loves discovering new worlds, cultures, and languages in them, and delights in finding the differences between the Spanish from Mexico, where she lives, and that of other parts of Latin America and Spain. Arlette has participated in the creation of more than a thousand books, either as writer, translator, editor, or publishing coordinator.
