Little Soldiers - Paperback

by Kloe A. Thompson (Author)

Opie was never meant to be a soldier. She is an Isrite-one of the peaceful folk who dwell high among the treetops of Mount Ne'de, a hidden realm in the south of Ganmuth where legend says the first Isrites were born from the roots of sacred trees. Their lives are filled with craft, harvest, and stories-not war.

Yet at fourteen, Opie turned her back on that quiet life. She ran from home to join the Keredah rebels, determined to stand against the darkness creeping across the world. Now, five years later, she carries the name she despises-The Failed Captain.

When a necromancer rises in the Southlands and an eerie corruption spreads, the Keredah call upon Opie for one final mission: to lead a band of warriors back into the homeland she abandoned. She alone knows the secret trails and hidden hollows where the dark spellkeeper might be gathering his strength.

At first, Opie refuses. She is certain there must be someone braver, stronger-more worthy of command. But she cannot deny what lives at the heart of her spirit: a fierce devotion to protect what remains of the light.

So she gathers her company, each with their own story and secrets: Hera of Clan Mudstone, Fayne of Clan Mudston, Beren of the Doviaan people, Ana of Havaha, Azira son of Zilas, Boaz son of Levtov, Luke and Nahas, sons of Ezrilas, Yerha of Ani, Tzra son of none, And Biliah "Billy" Elix Atzamot.

Together, they will cross treacherous mountains, haunted forests, and the ruins of old kingdoms to face an enemy who commands the dead themselves. Along the way, Opie must confront the truth about her past-and discover whether the smallest soldier can still change the fate of the world.

Rich with lore and propelled by adventure, Little Soldiers will sweep you into a world where courage is forged in the unlikeliest hearts-and where even the most ordinary name can echo through history.
