Just Do This: A Simpler Way to Succeed in I.T. - Hardcover

by D. J. Eshelman (Author)

Having a career in IT can be exciting... or frustrating.

Do you feel you're behind in your career?

Have you been passed over for promotion after promotion?

Or maybe you are just looking for something more in your IT Career and not finding it.

The problem isn't your knowledge. The problem is your methods.

In this book, I teach you the framework I have used to advance my career from temp worker to independent consultant, and now as coach and author.

The great news? What I've found is that SIMPLER IS BETTER.

A system everyone on the team can follow is something that is missing in many IT organizations. You don't need a certificate or degree to be successful in IT. You need to develop soft skills and a methodology, a consistent way to work.

This book introduces what I call the riskLESS IT Services Methodology-a four-phase system I use for my projects and that I have helped several teams implement.

The four phases are: Understand, Plan, Change, and Maintain.

This book goes into detail about how to understand these phases as well as how to discover, document, and work in day-to-day IT activities... without complicated systems that no one on the team really understands... or utilizes properly.
