ihablo Spanish ¿Cómo se dice? 2 - Paperback

by D. Kirk Boswell (Author)

There are many ways to learn Spanish, and one sure way to lose it. If you don't use it! Don't do it! Instead, hold on to your hard-earned Spanish and learn more by taking the Cómo se dice? Quiz and studying Spanish, 1 lesson a day...

The lessons of Cómo se dice?, Spanish for How does one say?, are designed to put you in daily contact with Spanish. Each volume of Cómo se dice? offers a select group of 122 new lessons, enough to keep you in Spanish for 4 months, 1 lesson a day, with a quiz.
Each lesson begins by asking how to say an English word, expression or phrase in Spanish. Like a flash quiz, this simple format gives you the opportunity to solve the lesson in Spanish before you proceed to read the lesson. It does not matter that you answer correctly, but rather that you engage in this exercise. Thinking about how to say something in Spanish is much more effective as a learning tool than simply being told how to say something. The skill level of Cómo se dice? ranges from entry level to intermediate, to a bit of advanced. Following the quiz, each lesson is broken into its component parts, which are defined and demonstrated by examples. Lesson topics range from simple vocabulary, to a rule of grammar, to the finer points of Spanish. This variety is meant to engage you and give you the knowledge and tools you need to take your Spanish to the next level. Remember, Spanish should never be harder to learn than it has to be. Accordingly, Cómo se dice? will always strive to show you how English and Spanish are the same, as well as different, so that you can leverage your own knowledge of English into a knowledge of Spanish. For example, the English noun transportation goes Spanish as transportación, reservation means reservación, education becomes educación, and so on. Knowing just this one link between English and Spanish is your key to over a thousand words in Spanish, without memorization → memorización!
While there are never enough hours in the day, you can always make a few minutes just for yourself. Own those minutes by taking the Cómo se dice? Quiz(TM) and studying ihablo(R) Spanish, 1 lesson a day...(TM)
