Hurricane! - Paperback

by Lynne a. Guitar (Author)

Book Six (Libro Seis)-Hurricane!/ Hurakan! One of the fiercest of the mighty Caribbean storms that manifest the fury of Guabancex, the Taínos' female "Goddess" of the Hurricane, destroys both Kaleta and Xaraguá. Kayabó, with the assistance of his spirit guide, Arokael, helps the people of both yukayekes (residential areas) to safety in the Ni Rahú Cave and Cave of the Aón, respectively. And he and his brother Majagua help in the rebuilding effort, too. But where is his kanoa? This is Book Six in Dr. Lynne Guitar's "Taíno Ni Rahú (Children of the Water) Series." All 10 books in the series take place just as Christopher Columbus and his motley crews are about to disrupt the Taínos' lives forever. Each book is in both English and Spanish. Guides to the books' historical backgrounds, characters, pronunciation, and extended explanations of Taíno words used are also provided for educational purposes. --- Una de la más feroz de las poderosas tormentas caribeñas que manifiestan la furia de Guabancex, la "Diosa" del Hurakán de los taínos, destruye tanto a Kaleta como a Xaraguá.
