James DeLuccia, cyber security expert and published author, draws on his 20+ years of experience to provide innovative and actionable solutions to embrace today's technology while avoiding its potential mishaps. James has spent the last decade building and leading global information security technology, teams, and compliance operations. James is also a patented inventor (of an encryption privacy related patent) and a devoted father. His published clients include Google, Amazon, Cisco, and Equifax, among others. He is certified as a CIA, CISA, CISM, CISSP, CPISA, and CPISM. He holds degrees in Risk Management and Management Information Systems, as well as an MBA in Finance.
The motivation for this book
In March of 2014, Mr. DeLuccia was compelled to write the book for his family and friends. That year, a member of James' family was a victim of several identity thefts. In one instance, she was unable to buy groceries for her family because her debit card was being used fraudulently. After a passionate family discussion about how easy it is to avoid such harm, James' family members finally admitted NOBODY EVER TOLD them how to be safe and secure online! Despite 20 years of serving the corporate community, James realized there was a serious lack of education regarding cyber security in our personal lives.

Since then, James has worked with professionals and regular consumers of technology (friends, parents, grandparents, high schoolers) to develop key principles that can apply to everything from social media to travel to online finances.
