Handbook For The New Dementia Caregiver: Preparing For Your Part In This Journey With Your Loved One - Paperback

by Miles Walters (Author)

Educate yourself for every step of this important journey you are about to embark on - for your loved one's sake as well as your own.

Has someone close to you recently been diagnosed with dementia, and you are worried because you aren't sure what to expect?

Have you started caring for a loved one with dementia, and you are scared you are going to mess up in some way?

Are you unsure of how to navigate difficult issues that are bound to arise, and this is causing you anxiety and stress?

If so, you are not alone. There are 50 million people worldwide that are affected by dementia, and for each person is a caregiver who felt exactly what you are feeling right now.

What's more is that, most often, caregivers are family members who are untrained in how to care for someone with dementia.

Many of these caregivers are members of the "sandwich generation" that is tasked with caring for aging parents while at the same time juggling a career and a family of their own.

Combine this with common issues of dementia, like forgetting who you are and lashing out at you for seemingly minor issues, and this new task can seem near impossible.

That is where this book comes in handy. It is here to walk you through what to expect so you don't feel like you are wandering through a dark, foggy forest with no compass.
