From Crack to Christ: Twenty Years Later - Paperback

by Stephen B. Towns (Author)

God's Blessing of Hope for Your Addiction Recovery Awaits You!

From Crack to Christ: Twenty Years Later is an often hard-biting, autobiography chronicling a season depicting one man's journey from the pits of hell into God's marvelous light. The journey begins with an inside view of addiction to crack cocaine. This view includes the twisted mindset of the addicted and their inability to escape the bondage of casual sex, alcoholism, substance abuse, and other destructive personal behavior.

Through many real-life and practical substance abuse recovery lessons, this overcoming addiction journey culminates with family restoration, and living in the abundance of God's prosperity. Dr. Towns' willingness to transparently share events and scenarios that others are either unable or unwilling to reveal, in Christian living books, proves invaluable. Few in ministry, clinical circles, or deliverance ministry books, have had a glimpse into this world. Even fewer subjects of addiction recovery books have themselves survived its trappings.

From Crack to Christ: Twenty Years Later is comprised of five parts.

Part One: LOST describes living a destructive lifestyle beyond man's reach. In this section, Towns exposes a myriad of plots and plans of the enemy. Spiritual warfare transpires on these pages, and because knowledge is power, the reader is strategically strengthened.

Part Two explains REDEMPTION. This offered explanation encompasses the process of being rescued from captivity, emphatically expounding upon extrication from trouble and sin. Towns' journey also delves into the troubled psyche of those new to the gift of salvation, and their inability to forgive themselves.

Part Three progresses to RESTORATION. This section explains some of God's expectations of the believer having progressed through the process of renewal and revival. It reveals the act of giving back something to one deprived of it. Furthermore, if restoration is the ability to put back into an unimpaired or much-improved condition, Towns' work helps believers see God's constructive work in their lives.

Part Four addresses how Christians can live the PROSPERED lives God intended. Sometimes, experiencing God's prosperity follows the reality that we bear the responsibility of keeping ourselves from being held back. These lessons help us to see a way through the storms in our lives to know that the Son is still shining.

Finally, Part Five is an all-new, one-chapter conclusion aptly dubbed the BENEDICTION. In this section, Dr. Towns shares the highs and lows he has experienced over the twenty-five years since his divinely-inspired substance abuse treatment. Through it all, Towns demonstrates that he is a walking, talking, living, breathing, fire-baptised, miracle of the Lord.
