by Vivian Luke (Author)

Well-heeled families and backgrounds; degrees from Ivy League schools; countless professional successes; happy marriages and children; deluxe homes and lavish shopping habits, F.A.K.E.! traces the lives of four professional African American women who have it all until life altering circumstances crash into their lives and they realize their lives are not perfect -- they are FAKE! The F.A.K.E.s - Faith St. John, Adrienne Morris, Krishna Fitzgerald and Evelyn Montague - appear to be perfect on the outside but this is just a thin facade over the personal turmoil within each of them. This quartet of "forty something" super moms are connected by their decades long friendship and their lives in the Washington, DC metropolitan area. All of them have climbed to the top of their careers and relish their fabulous, over the top lifestyles. They're decorated like fancy cakes in designer clothes, handbags, and shoes. To the outside, these women are well connected, busy and beautiful, but secretly each of them knows their lives are inauthentic and shallow - simply put, FAKE! Each of these women discovers her marriage and/or health (and, possibly all they've worked so hard for) is on the brink of destruction and must make life-changing decisions. Fake lives, REAL FRIENDSHIPS is ultimately revealed because it is their deep rooted, life long friendships that get them through some of the toughest periods in each of their lives.
