Eat off the Land: A Wild Foraging and Survival Cookbook Featuring Mushrooms, Plants, Fish, and Game from the Pacific Northwest and Beyond - Paperback

by Sharon Trammell (Author)

Today, more than ever before, we are living in an environment of economic uncertainty-facing more natural

disasters than ever before, not to mention the ever-present threat of global conflicts. If the world were to be

forced off-grid tomorrow, how would you survive? Would you know what wild edibles were good to eat? How to

cook them? Could you catch and preserve fish? Harvest a deer and make its hide into a blanket or rug for your

off-grid shelter? Choose and prepare wild mushrooms without dying?

This cookbook and foraging guide can help! Written in a simple manner and with a focus on the natural

abundance that the wild can offer, you will learn more than just survival: you will learn to thrive in the wild!

Inside, you will find a full identification guide with foraging tips for over 40 different plants, wild mushrooms,

and wild fruit, followed by scrumptious, easy to make recipes-off the grid, or from the comfort of your home!

You will learn not only how to cook easy meals, often inspired by Indigenous techniques or long-lost survival

methods, but also how to use each plant, fish, or wild mushroom-thoroughly! From smoked steelhead to

fish fertilizer derived from the carcass of that same fish, to elderberry dye made from the leftover pulp after

you make elderberry medicine-which, by the way, works a lot better than prescription meds-and is available

regardless if the pharmacies shut down or you are denied your monthly prescription amounts...this book is your

go-to guide for everything foraged, wild harvested, and derived from the very forest that has existed throughout

time, untouched by human made or natural disasters.
