Earthing the Wired Generation: Stress Relief for Busy Kids -A Touch Therapy Toolkit - Paperback

by Nici Schmidt (Author)

Among all the children's growing up books available, have you been looking for a solution which will enable your child to feel grounded and stress-free amid all the hustle and bustle of our fast techno-chemical world? Touch therapy in its various forms offers parents a valuable 'toolkit' relevant to today's wired generation. This practical guide can teach you how to carry out some simple treatments using various pressure-based massage techniques taken from reflexology, acupressure and knowledge about the Chinese meridians. It has been written mostly for young children between 1-8 although the age group can be extended right up to the late teen years.Learn about the healing chemistry that is unleashed through therapeutic touch and the importance of earthing for your child's well-being. Become aware of Chi, known as vital life force. Enhance Chi through massaging the feet and harness replenishment through high vibration foods and lifestyle activities. Create quality time together that will not only reinforce your child's sense of self-worth, but also help balance emotions and 'recharge their battery'. Improve concentration, digestion, elimination, immunity, & sleep. Learn how to better manage stress, anxiety, tantrums, mood swings, cravings and much more. Support your child's neuro-endocrine and energy system in finding equilibrium. Perhaps living in our so-termed 'VUCA' world, characterized by volatility, uncertainty, complexity, and ambiguity, makes the need to hold on to old traditional ways of sustaining endurance, restoring composure and coping ability more pertinent than ever... I feel this to be true as a mother raising my child in such a place. As a reflexologist based in South Africa, my observation is that touch therapy can be hugely effective for alleviating stress in people from all walks of life. This book has been compiled to share some energy replenishing relaxation skills with children. May they learn the value of looking after their health as their greatest wealth.
