E. M. Bounds Prayer Devotional: By the Works of E. M. Bounds - Paperback

by Jon Dowler (Author)

"We put it to the front. We unfold it on a banner never to be lowered or folded, that God does hear and answer prayer. God has always heard and answered prayer. God will forever hear and answer prayer. He is the same yesterday, to-day and forever, ever blessed, ever to be adored. Amen. He changes not. As He has always answered prayer, so will He ever continue to do so."E. M. BoundsMy first book by Edward M. Bounds, Power for Prayer was found at a garage sale. I was drawn to it. I have been in the ministry since 1986. Many times I have been supernaturally led to a classic work of a man of God, and "Power for Prayer" was one of those works. . This led me to his other books on prayer. This devotional is a compilation of several of four of his books in daily, bite-size format. I purposefully have not edited any of his material, but left it in its original format.I read it daily, but unlike other books, I could only read smaller excerpts at a time because of the depth of his revelations. You literally have to stop and say, "Selah." I eventually sensed the call to compile a devotional in this same format, that others could simply do the same. Many readers will be not be able to stop at the current date's page, but will be compelled to keep reading. I did this on purpose, because, that's the way I read it. Read a little and meditate it. Let the words speak to your inner man. The spirit of prayer is truly caught, not just taught. I believe the spirit of prayer that was on his life are in these words. This truly is some of the richest teachings and exhortations on prayer you will ever read.Get ready! God is about speak to you about prayer, and help you to understand it. Grab a pen! I left the margins big enough so you can make notes.Even so, "Come quickly Lord Jesus."Edward McKendree Bounds (1835-1913) practiced law for three years until he was called to preach the gospel. While serving as chaplain during the Civil War, he was captured and held prisoner in Nashville, TN. After his release, he held several pastorates. His books on prayer have been continual best-sellers for over 100 years. He was a man who lived ever on prayer ground. He walked and talked with the Lord. Prayer was the great weapon in his arsenal, his pathway to the Throne of Grace. None who read what he has written can fail of realising that Edward McKendree Bounds talked with God, as a man talketh to his friend..This devotional will teach you how to pray and transform your prayer life. this would make an excellent gift for any who are given to prayer, or desire to learn how to pray.
