Dying Moon: A Historical Fantasy Series - Paperback

by W. Michael Gear (Author), Kathleen O'Neal Gear (Author)

New York Times bestselling authors W. Michael Gear and Kathleen O'Neal Gear deliver an epic saga of collapse, sacrifice, and destiny in Ancient America.

The mighty Chaco Anasazi empire-rulers of a vast domain across New Mexico, Colorado, Utah, and Arizona-teeters on the brink of collapse. As the sacred 18.6-year lunar standstill approaches, the Chacoans gather at Chimney Rock Great House to pray, dance, and plead with indifferent gods.

War Chief Left Hand sees this moment as his chance to crush the rebellion and seize control of the empire. But far from the great houses, others fight battles of their own. The trader Spots escorts the formidable witch Nightshade to Flowing Waters Town, where she will face Blessed Sun Webworm in a fateful clash of wills-one that will cost her dearly. Hunter Wrapped Wrist, now a reluctant guide and messenger, joins the fierce warrior Crow Woman to unite the fractured Moon People for a final assault. Meanwhile, Ripple, the Dreamer burdened with visions of doom, realizes that victory for his people may demand the ultimate sacrifice.

As the moon rises between twin pillars of stone, casting its pale light over sacred ground, destinies collide in an epic confrontation. With People of the Moon and Dying Moon, W. Michael Gear and Kathleen O'Neal Gear deliver an unforgettable saga rooted in cutting-edge archaeology, bringing to life the dramatic fall of one of America's greatest ancient cultures.
