Data Center Critical Facilities Migration from Construction to Operations - Paperback

by Yekini K. Tidjani (Author)

"Data Center Critical Facilities Migration from Construction to Operations: A Complete Guide" is a clear, practical handbook for building and running a data center from the ground up. Written for data center managers, engineers, project leads, and anyone tackling this challenging process, it's a must-have tool for getting it right.

The book kicks off with pre-construction planning, guiding you through nailing down what you need, setting clear goals, working with vendors, and spotting risks early. It focuses on catching problems before they start and having solid backup plans ready.

Next, it dives into construction and startup, walking you through managing the build, connecting systems like power, cooling, and networking, and testing everything to make sure it works perfectly. It covers the official startup process and explains how to hand things over to the operations team, with all the paperwork and responsibilities clearly sorted out.

For the day-to-day operations, the book lays out how to set up smooth workflows, keep maintenance on track, and monitor performance to keep things running like clockwork. It also helps you plan for growth so your data center can handle whatever comes next. You'll find straightforward advice on managing power, cooling, security, and environmental controls, plus tips for keeping data safe from threats.

The guide wraps up with data center moves, sharing real-world lessons and smart strategies to make migrations easier. Packed with examples, diagrams, checklists, and templates you can actually use, this book is all about helping you get from construction to full operation without a hitch, while keeping things efficient and ready for the long haul.
