Come Talk with Me - Paperback

by Buddy Westbrook (Author)

"What I feel most guilty and ashamed about in my Christian walk is how little I pray." Why is this true for most Christians? Many of us have experienced prayer as a discipline and a duty. We aren't born knowing how to relate well with God in prayer--we need to be taught. This is why Jesus' disciples asked Him to teach them how to pray. For many years, Buddy Westbrook has been training people how to relate with God using Jesus' lesson plan in Luke 11. In Come Talk with Me, he will coach you toward down-to-earth skills that will enable you to communicate with God instead of just talking to Him. Whether you use this book on your own or with a group, Come Talk with Me will walk you step-by-step into relational conversation with God. Through instruction, stories, examples, exercises, and interactive coaching, you will learn practical skills that will enable you to hear God accurately, relate with Him deeply, and receive His initiation. You will also discover how to wrestle with Him, enjoy Him, and receive His incredible parenting, friendship, understanding, care, and direction. The practical skills in Come Talk with Me will not only change how you pray, they'll change you. When God's sons and daughters hear and receive His tangible parenting, His personal affection, His perspective on their lives, and His customized directions, everything changes. You will truly experience being God's child. BUDDY WESTBROOK is a graduate of Dallas Theological Seminary and the pastor of CrossLand Community Bible Church in Fort Worth, Texas. He uses coaching-style leadership to teach others how to skillfully communicate with God. He has been married to his beloved wife, Letty, for more than forty-two years.
