Color Continuum - Gradients: Five Quilt Projects Turning Dark to Light - Paperback

by Emily Cier (Author)

Color Continuum is an exploration in using different approaches to color palettes together with modern, geometric designs to evoke a mood or even suggest a beautiful landscape or classic painting. - The first four books in Color Continuum explored single- and dual-tone palettes, rainbows, and some of the author's favorite color combinations. - In no. 05 gradients, palettes flow from one shade to another, using the shift from dark to light to bring movement, light, and even texture to a design. - Five designs in five unique new palettes showcase different approaches to using gradients to imbue a quilt with light and life.

Author Biography

Emily Cier desires only to live a normal life with her family in the Pacific Northwest. In order to achieve this goal, she must first rid herself of the plague of quilt designs, block ideas, shape concepts, and color palettes that invade her dreams, seep into her every waking hour, and deny her a moment's peace. Perhaps someday she will have satisfied the quilting spirits by translating all these ideas to concrete form. Until that day, she continues her daily toils to transcribe page after page of charts and illustrations. Carolina Patchworks began as a way to fund Emily's fabric habit by selling the quilts she crafted, but has evolved over the years. Today, Carolina Patchworks has over 70 patterns in print, and including the tome you are holding in your hands, has penned ten books on quilting. We can assure you, however, that there's more awesomeness yet to come. For more of Emily's work, visit www.carolinapatchworks.com.
