BYU vs. Utah: A Decade of Drama: Inside the greatest era in Holy War History - Paperback

by Colby Newton (Author)

In November of 2004, the University of Utah had just defeated Brigham Young University 52-21. It was the third win in a row for the Utes in the series and it kicked off a crazy month of drama, including Kyle Whittingham being courted by both schools to be their head coach. It also set in motion a wild and exciting ten year period in the century-old rivalry that might not ever be matched. Relive iconic moments in the rivalry including: -Harline is still open -Magic happens -The Quest has moved north -Max Hall hates me -George is still running -Fans storming the field three times in one game -and so many more! From 2004 through 2013, each time the teams met the game seemed to upstage the previous version. Seven of the games were decided by single digits. Five were decided on the final play. Two went into overtime. Each outcome seemed to determine the emotion, even the very heartbeat, of the entire state of Utah. The drama off the field began to out-perform the games themselves. And then it ended. The 2013 match-up sent the Holy War on a hiatus, the first such break since World War II. But it also put a cap on a decade of spectacular finishes, colorful personalities, and legacy-altering moments that may never be matched. Filled with intriguing anecdotes about the players and coaches in the rivalry, BYU vs Utah: A Decade of Drama is a look back at the greatest, most exciting and dramatic era in Holy War history.
