Additional Synopsis: Fancy Girl Hamilton-yes, that's really her name-is stuck being tortured through elementary school with the same mean kids year after year. What's more, she doesn't feel like she fits in with her family. Her mom, Bertha, and her sister, Jacqueline, are obsessed with pageants. And worst of all is the nickname she's had since age five: Butterball. As Fancy enters the fifth grade, her last year at Brentford Elementary, she hopes it will be different. But sadly she finds herself with the same group of bullying classmates she's had since she was five, those in the gifted and talented program. Worst of all is Katie Brentford, her archenemy, who picks on Fancy relentlessly. Soon, though, Fancy and her friends come up with a plan to get even. With wit, cunning, hard work, and determination, she'll do her best to take those who are messing with her down a peg and embrace the person she is. In this novel for middle readers, a fifth-grade girl who faces bullying from both her classmates and sister works with her friends to take revenge.
