Building a Generational Legacy - Paperback

by Duane Harder (Author)

What a tragedy! King Hezekiah is given a fifteen-year extension to his life and at the same time is told that his sons would be taken into captivity in Babylon. His response - "That's fine. At least there will be peace and truth while I'm alive." Our absorption with the present has dulled our vision for the future. My prayer is that as you read this book you will be inspired to think generationally. You will discover: Seven symptoms of hypocrisy that nullify our influence and turn out the light of truth. Seven myths that have the sound of truth. Ideological weapons that subvert us and nullify the legacy of truth. Insights that will help you build a solid biblical foundation for a generational legacy. The book does not present quick fix solutions, however, It does challenge you to a way of life that crosses cultural traditions and transcends time. In the movie, I Can Only Imagine, Bart Millard, the composer of the song by the same title, is asked by Amy Grant how long it took to write the song. Bart's response is, "Maybe ten minutes." To which Amy Grant replies, "It didn't take you minutes; it took you a lifetime." How long did it take to write this book? A lifetime. It conveys: The wisdom of my father. The godly counsel of a spiritual father, Dr. Pickford. The encouragement of an older sibling, Eugene, and a "spiritual big brother," Bob Holmes. The influence of hundreds of authors too numerous to name. Godly children and their spouses who have encouraged me to write. Above all, the faithful support of my beloved wife who believed in me, stood with me and supported me in our journey together. May you extract from this book the grace of God that has been richly given through so many sources.
