Boys to Men: De Niños a Hombres - Paperback

by Nathalie "tali" Saxton de Perez (Illustrator), Lynne a. Guitar (Author)

Kayabó is helping two of his younger brothers, Yari and Imonex, learn everything they need to know before they can join the ranks of men. They learn to catch large fish and turtles with remoras (sucker fish), to make stone ax heads with handles that won't fly off, and rubber belts for their game of batey (ball game)-all done by harnessing the technology of nature. Little do they know that Christopher Columbus and his men are landing on nearby Guanahaní and will soon land on their island. This is Book Eight in Dr. Lynne Guitar's "Taíno Ni Rahú (Children of the Water) Series." All 10 books in the series take place just as Christopher Columbus and his motley crews are about to disrupt the Taínos' lives forever. Each book is in both English and Spanish. Guides to the books' historical backgrounds, characters, pronunciation, and extended explanations of Taíno words used are also provided for educational purposes. --- Kayabó está ayudando a dos de sus hermanos menores, Yari e Imonex, a aprender todo lo que necesitan saber antes de que puedan unirse a la categoría de los hombres.
