Beneath the Woodland Stars - Paperback

by Cindy Hobbs (Author)

Cindy's life took a sharp turn one April Fool's Day (a sick joke, if you will)-her "perfect" life imploded in front of her like an explosive star. Her husband of 14 years, infidelity, and substance abuse came scorching through the only life she had ever had. The arrangement of her life shattered into a million fragments.

After uncovering the truth about her husband's deceit, Cindy upends her life to move to a remote town in Utah called Woodland. There, she settles into a dilapidated house-full of endless renovations and scrappy DIY projects. Unfamiliar with the neighborhood and its inhabitants, Cindy tackles all of her new realities in stride: the comedy of dating in your forties, the calamity of processing grief, and most importantly, the unfamiliarity with herself-a stranger inside her. In solitude and in community, Woodland becomes where Cindy starts anew and finds the truest home she could have ever imagined.

With charming, unforgettable characters like the local mechanic, the kind waitress, and the genuine town sheriff, Cindy brings readers into a world made entirely of her own making, full of heart-warming connections, and a soul-nourishing community. She brings readers right into her story of finding herself-in the arms of a neighbor, the booth at the local café, and in moments of stillness, alone.

In BENEATH THE WOODLAND STARS, readers will not only be introduced to the moving story of Cindy-a deeply passionate, witty, and charismatic woman-they'll be introduced to an even greater storyline: the story of self-love and growth and true inner healing. As readers watch Cindy's story unfold-her life, at times, rife with tragedy and uncertainty-they'll watch her rise to each occasion with grit, determination, and an unfettered commitment to a force greater than each of us, aiding her on her journey to becoming.

With raw, unguarded-and at times, laugh-out-loud humor- BENEATH THE WOODLAND STARS will not only entertain readers with its whimsy and humor, but it will encourage any reader to listen to their intuition, love themselves, and enjoy the journey-no matter where it takes you.
