An American Living in Germany - Paperback

by Joan Andrews Wilson (Author)

In 1962, Joan Wilson boarded a plane to Germany to chase an adventure and follow a calling. What began as a one-year international work assignment became a transformative journey of faith, cultural discovery, and personal growth that lasted nearly two years.

In An American Living in Germany, Joan shares the true story of her time living and working abroad as a young woman in post-war Europe. Through a collection of heartfelt letters preserved by her mother, Joan invites readers to experience Germany through her eyes-from mastering a new language and navigating workplace customs, to forming lifelong friendships and traveling across Europe by train.

Joan reflects on the simple joys of German family life, the beauty of cultural exchange, and the many moments where God's guiding hand was unmistakably present. This inspiring Christian memoir reminds readers that even in unfamiliar places, we are never alone-and that faith can open unexpected new doors.

Whether you're drawn to stories of cross-cultural adventure, personal transformation, or God's quiet provision in everyday life, An American Living in Germany is a journey worth taking.
