Abigail and the Royal Thread - Hardcover

by Betty Turnbull (Author)

A heartwarming story about perseverance, family, and believing in yourself.

When Billy is discouraged after striking out at baseball, Papa shares the inspiring story of Abigail Rutherford, a young Scottish girl whose courage and determination changed her family's future.

Set in 17th-century Scotland, Abigail and the Royal Thread follows the Rutherford family as they are given the opportunity of a lifetime-to earn ownership of the land they have long worked by weaving a magnificent tunic for King James I of England. With little time and an enormous task before them, success seems impossible. But when Abigail embraces her mother's wisdom, works tirelessly to master a difficult skill, and believes in herself, she discovers that faith, perseverance, and families working together can accomplish extraordinary things.

Beautifully illustrated and inspired by history, Abigail and the Royal Thread reminds young readers that with determination, courage, and belief in their own abilities, even the greatest dreams can become reality.
