Hey there, families on the quest for knowledge and creativity! We're all about sparking that imaginative fire in young minds. So, here's the scoop: this journal is like the ultimate playground for kids' thoughts and artistic flair. It's not a must-have for the curriculum; in fact, it can totally do its own thing. We just wanted to sprinkle some extra fun into those notebooks because, hey, who doesn't love a bit of whimsy? Let's make learning an adventure, one book at a time!

If you want a curriculum that keeps your students engaged, keep reading!

What is history, really? At first glance, you might think this is a silly question. History is the study of the past: who did what, when, and where it happened. But history is also so much more. History is a story, like a pick-your-own-adventure story. It's a lens you look through to understand where you are now, how you got here, and where you might be going in the future. History is even happening now, and you are making history every day. A thousand years from now, historians will be reading e-books and Tweets and watching YouTube and TikTok to learn about what life must have been like in the early 2000s!

This is a Journal to accompany the Reading Book and Activity Workbook to "Ancient Civilizations of the World: Mesopotamia, Egypt, Greece, and Rome." Within this full-year course, our reading book, workbook, and journal follow the same topics and are intended to complement each other.

Use this Journal to enhance learning and personal reflection. It's designed with lined pages perfect for journaling and taking notes, and sketching sheets so students can have fun and find an outlet to express themselves creatively.

We provide instructions in the journal on how to access the following valuable free resources that supplement this curriculum:

• • Parent-Teacher Guide (includes answers to workbook questions)
  • Bibliography with additional references
  • Color images with citations
  • Glossary
  • Timeline (fill-in)
