Want to know what really goes on in a federal prison camp? Here's 100 journal entries that will pull the curtain back and expose the shocking truth. Future inmate or friend of the Incarcerated... In August of 2013 I was sentenced to 72 months in prison for conspiracy to commit mail, wire and bank fraud. I was ordered to the Federal Prison Camp in Montgomery, Alabama where I served 1643 days. With no experience with the Criminal Justice System, I thought all prisons looked like the one on the cover of this book (they don't). For 1643 days, I kept a detailed journal. I've selected 100 entries that pull the curtain back and expose what really goes on in a federal prison camp. Are you new to the federal prison system? 1643 Days takes you through every stage of the system. If you're like most "campers", you've never been incarcerated. You don't know what to expect. The fear of the unknown can be debilitating. Worse yet, criminal defense attorneys are clueless about prison life. You need accurate information, not half-truths and mis-information. I'll give it to you straight. Have a friend or loved one in prison? You'll walk away with a whole new understanding. Far from theoretical, 1643 Days is one big case study: my own 'real world' prison chronicle! Follow my first-hand experience as you learn: * The truth about getting "time off" in the feds (it's not what you think) * How to maximize prison time to better yourself and prepare for life after prison * How to earn a college degree while incarcerated (and have tuition waived!) * How to avoid common conflicts that often lead to violence * Healthy habits to get in the best physical shape of your life * The ups and downs of prison life, and how to stay positive Most importantly, this book removes the fear of the unknown. The result: less anxiety, better preparation and peace of mind! "Navigating the corrections system is not easy. Jason's book sheds light on the challenges and opportunities available within a federal prison camp setting." -- Sue Kastensen, Prison Re-entry Expert. www.fairshake.org "Jason has the right mind set. As a result, he accomplished more while in prison than many people accomplish on the outside. In this well written, comprehensive book, he holds nothing back. Everything you need to know to master life in a Federal Prison Camp is in this book." -- Michael Santos, Prison Expert and author of multiple books on the U.S. Criminal Justice System, including "Inside: Life Behind Bars in America' and 'Earning Freedom' -- www.michaelsantos.com
