103 Shadows Set Free: Selected Poems - Paperback

by Samuel R. Himes (Author)

A disabled U.S. Army Veteran, Samuel R. Himes suffers from schizoaffective disorder; a mental illness containing aspects of both schizophrenia and depression. Mr. Himes has been reading and writing poetry since early childhood. 103 Shadows Set Free is his second book. Samuel Himes is a lover of words, a creator of verbal pictures. His dramatic flare, detailed descriptions and desire to convey his introspect to the ready and evident throughout his work. In 103 Shadows Set Free Sam opens the doors to his inner sanctum- inviting others to share a glimpse inside his world, while silently urging the reader to allow the poetry to reflect into their own lives. Poetry is an infinite world and so, of course, there is always room for another poet. Sam, as 103 Shadows Set Free exemplifies, is a welcome addition to the world of poetry. With this collection of poems, Sam takes the reader on a life journey. Light, it seems, often denotes life; but Sam knows it's in the shadows where one learns the hardest lessons. This selection of poetry enables the reader to explore dark shadows, while living in the light. So with book in hand, sit back, enjoy the read and allow 103 Shadows Set Free to inspire you to free a few of your own shadows.
